One of my favorite YouTubers and writers, Ali Abdaal, introduced me to the idea of a “Second Brain": a searchable repository of the valuable things we read, hear, see, watch, and will likely forget if we don't capture them in text. Drawing upon Ali's system, I've taken to practice bits of what he does—for one, jotting down whatever interesting thoughts I encounter in an Apple Reminders list titled “Thoughts.” I set Sundays aside for these thoughts. I'll scroll through quotes and reflections between sips of espresso, writing paragraph sequels to each idea and putting them in conversation with each other to figure out how to introduce a new habit or belief into how I live.
The writings here are results of these Sunday musings. Sometimes it's autobiographical, more a journal entry than a step-by-step guide to increased productivity or a 225 bench or anything similarly meant to instruct. It's my brain chewing on something raw and tough, gross and unsexy, not the effortless growth I once imagined. But it's real. And maybe even useful for the right person.
"You should ask yourself the question 'will this be interesting/useful to at least 1 person in the world?'. If the answer is 'yes' or 'maybe', then you should share what you have to say."
